The 5 Best Healthy Food Blogs
Resources to make eating healthy so much easier.
If sitting down to plan your meals for the week is one of your least favorite tasks, we need to get you some better resources. I’m not saying that it’s my absolute favorite thing to do, but it definitely doesn’t need to be something that we dread. In fact, meal planning should be one of the most creative things we do. To help it become more of an inspired process and less of a chore, I’ve come up with a list of what I consider to be the 5 best healthy food blogs.
The recipe creators on these sites will give you plenty of options to get you started or keep you going. If you just need a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing, they’ve got you covered. Or, if you need step by step instructions for every meal and snack of the day, they’ve got you covered as well. Most importantly, enjoy getting to know them and definitely appreciate the work they put into these labors of love that will help make eating healthy so much easier.
Budget Bytes$
I have to start off with Beth over at Budget Byte$ because she combines two of my favorite concepts. Healthy, delicious recipes on a budget! Not only does she tell you the total cost of each recipe, she also breaks it down to the cost per serving. I’m telling you, the very geeky number-crunching side of me has fun going through this site just for that part alone. Add that to the fact that these are some of the simplest and best recipes ever, and you’ve simply got to put Budget Byte$ at the top of your favorite recipe resources list.
My favorite recipe: Turkey Taco Skillet
Tessa the Domestic Diva
I simply cannot say enough good things about Tessa the Domestic Diva. I’ve been using Tessa’s recipes for years because she is absolutely one of the best resources I’ve found for healthy allergy-friendly cooking. Even if allergies aren’t an issue for you, you’re going to love her recipes because they just taste that good. Whether you’re trying to cook healthier for yourself or your entire family, Tessa is guaranteed to have plenty for everyone.
My favorite recipe: Creamy Hot Artichoke Dip
Elise Museles
When I first started following Elise Museles, her site was known as Kale & Chocolate. I’ll fully admit that I thought, “Okay, I love kale, and I love chocolate, so I’ll check it out.” I’m so glad I did! Not only are her recipes healthy and wonderful, but her site overall is welcoming and relaxing. In addition to her recipes, Elise can help you begin to understand your food story and create “a world where you listen to your body and choose the foods that feel good to you.” I’m telling you, repeated visits with Elise Museles will do wonders for your body and your soul.
My favorite recipe: Homemade Veggie Burgers
Ambitious Kitchen
Monique over at Ambitious Kitchen has got it going on when it comes to a healthy kitchen. Whether it’s baked goods, snacks or main meals, she’s there. There are so many recipes to choose from, you’ll want to leave plenty of time for just browsing at first. Then dive in, pick a couple and start cooking.
My favorite recipe: 30-Minute Skinny Alfredo Ziti with Broccoli
Dizzy Busy & Hungry
I love visiting Kristin over at Dizzy Busy & Hungry because well… she gets it! We’re busy women who don’t have a lot of time, and we need great-tasting recipes that won’t take a long to plan or cook. What’s best is that the recipes on Kristin’s site are very family-friendly. There are though some adult beverages thrown in along the way because again… we’re busy women!
My favorite recipe: Easy Curry Pasta and Vegetables
Minimalist Baker
Minimalist Baker is another one that definitely deserves a spot on any list of the best healthy food blogs. While she offers plenty for all tastes, if you need vegan or gluten-free, you’re going to be at home here. One of the things that I love about this site is that you can easily filter for seasonal food, special diets, cuisine and even specific ingredients. Minimalist Baker is here to make life easier for you!
My favorite recipe: 5-Minute Vegan Pesto
