In reply to <a href="https://peppermint-tea.com/pros-and-cons-of-almond-milk/#comment-128">Linda Keltner</a>.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience Linda! I'm so sorry for the long delay in my response. I thought I had responded but apparently it didn't go through correctly. Almond milk definitely isn't for everyone. We also use Good Karma's Unsweetened Flax Milk since Alex is allergic to nuts. We've found that the kind in the small cartons usually found in the baking section is much better than the kind in the 64-ounce cartons in the refrigerated section because it's a thicker consistency.

My first exposure to almond milk was when I tried to cook for my son's significant other who was vegan. While successful with the cooking, I found that I did not care for the taste as a drink. No big surprise. I don't like almonds.

In November, 2019, I began a program of clean eating with added supplements. One was a protein powder that was to be mixed with almond milk. I forced it down with digestive issues resulting. By day 3, I was only able to get 1/2 down before I would vomit. Digestive issues remained the rest of the day. I blamed the protein powder. I was not aware of the gum in almond milk. Interesting.

I love milk, but understood it had lots of carbs. One of our local grocery stores, Kroger, has Carbmaster Nonfat Milk. 0 fat, 3g carbs, 11 g protein. I love this compromise, but have not tried the protein powder in it. Guess I will have to try.

Thanks for the info on almond milk. Not sure I will try to make my own, but it is an option.
