Watch a movie. If you’ve ever watched a movie and felt inspired, happy or as if you’ve been on a vacation from the world for two hours, you know how good movies can be for our overall wellbeing. They can offer an escape from reality, give us a different perspective on our own reality or offer insights that we didn’t even know we were looking for. I have to remind myself of this occasionally because sometimes when I sit down to watch a movie, I feel like I’m wasting time or that I should be doing something else. While we certainly don’t want to spend more time in fictional worlds than our own, an occasional movie can be very good for us. So, take time every now and then to truly let yourself get absorbed in a good movie. It will be time well spent.
Cinema therapy takes “movie therapy” a step further and is a method sometimes used in the context of psychotherapy. To learn more about that, visit cinematherapy.com.
