Stretch. Stretching should be part of everyone’s daily routine. According to this Harvard Medical School article, “Stretching keeps our muscles flexible, strong and healthy. We need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints.” If you don’t stretch, the muscles can become “short and tight” and then when we need them for activity, they can’t extend as far as we need them to, which puts us at risk for injury.
We want our muscles to be long, lean and flexible so that our body can move as we need it to with both exercise and regular daily activities. So, whether it’s part of a workout or not, find a time to stretch every day!
