Smile! According to a new paper published in Psychological Bulletin, researchers at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Texas A&M found that smiling really can make us feel better. The opposite is also true – frowning can make us feel sadder. The researchers compiled data from 138 studies and found that our facial expressions do have a small impact on our feelings. That doesn’t mean we can smile ourselves to happiness, but it’s a good place to start.
