Lean on Others. I am a firm believer in the fact that life doesn’t give us more than we can handle, but that doesn’t mean we have to do it all on our own. It’s so easy to think that we don’t want to bother other people with our problems, that we don’t want to be the downer in the room or that we should be able to handle everything ourselves. Trust me, I’ve tried that and barely came out standing. Reaching out to others for help can multiply our strength when ours may be at its lowest, can potentially give us creative solutions when we’re simply tapped out and can give us a soft place to land if we just need to fall. Then, when you are back on firmer ground, you can take your turn in the trenches with someone else. Leaning on others is more than okay; it’s what we’re here to do. We were not meant to live in isolation. We were meant to live in community. That means being there for each other because we’re all in this together.
