Create an exercise plan. Knowing what your exercise goals are and creating a plan to achieve them are critical to achieving your long-term health goals. If you don’t know what your goals are, exercise may feel pointless or easy to give up on when things get busy. At the same time, if you know what your goals are but don’t have a detailed plan for achieving them, you may find that you’re actually not doing the right things and will get discouraged because you’re not seeing the results you wanted. If you have young kids, it may be as simple as actively playing with them every day with specific movements worked in intentionally. If you have a gym membership but feel bored or don’t know how to use the equipment, it may be worth investing in a couple of personal training sessions to get you started. Or, whether you’re working out at home or at a gym, you can look online. There are a bazillion (yes, that’s actually a word) free workout plans and videos available to help you figure it out.

Bottom line, just like with any other goals that you have, you need to have an exercise plan in place to help you define what you’re working for and how to achieve it.
